A change of command took place at the CRGN in Toamasina. Colonel Bahavana Derbas, newly appointed to head the CRGN, officially took over from General Razafialison Cyr, the previous commander. A formal handover ceremony was held under tight security, attended by various military units, police forces, and responsible officials. The ceremony was led by General Zipa Jean Hubert, secretary general of the national gendarmerie, and General Mamelison Mbina Nonos, commander of the Malagasy police, along with other local authorities represented by regional secretary Bemahefa Gervais. Following the handover, Colonel Bahavana Derbas, new head of CRGN Toamasina, outlined his priorities: ensuring compliance with regulations, improving the conduct of officers under his command, carrying out duties with efficiency and success, taking responsibility in the face of challenges, strengthening relations between police and the public to support all work for the people, and executing tasks with available resources. A major inspection was conducted after the change of command, which took place under security measures.
