Construction work on the Anosizato flyover begins this Friday, July 31, 2026, aimed at improving traffic flow in this part of Antananarivo and neighboring areas. The first groundbreaking will take place in two days, marking the start of the Anosizato flyover construction project. The Ministry of Public Works and stakeholders involved in implementing the Flyover project have validated preparations to officially launch the site. The escrow account, intended for compensating property and building owners affected by the work, is now open and operational. As a reminder, payment of these compensations is among the preliminary steps before launching the work, to the relief of those concerned. The official launch ceremony for this project will be held Friday in Anosizato. In this context, traffic measures have been implemented: starting Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 1 a.m., traffic will be restricted around Anosizato until Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 10 a.m. This unprecedented project in Madagascar will be carried out by Chinese company CGC (China Geo-Engineering Corporation) over a 24-month period. The project is financed by 28 million dollars from BADEA (Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa) and the Malagasy State. Organization During construction, the Land Transport Agency (ATT) and the Urban Municipality of Antananarivo (CUA) will manage traffic to avoid complete disruption on this city axis. Additionally, an information campaign will be conducted for users, residents, and all stakeholders involved in the work. This includes television programs featuring key officials responsible for the work, providing detailed explanations and answers to public questions about the Anosizato flyover project implementation. Note that the current bridge in service at Anosizato will remain in place and continue serving users until completion of a temporary bridge designed to ease traffic congestion. A new permanent bridge will be part of the flyover construction work.
