Anosibe: Fake Community Leaders Arrested for Robbery
Two men posing as community leaders and robbing travelers at night in Anosibe have been arrested by national police and remanded in custody following investigations. According to reports, on the night of June 14, 2026, an employee reported being robbed by these criminals. After receiving a complaint at the Mahamasina Commission, police conducted immediate investigations and arrested both men that same night. During questioning by judicial authorities, the officers showed disrespect and made threatening statements. The judicial authorities therefore called for reinforcements, and the suspects were immediately restrained and arrested. After all procedures were completed, the case was transferred for prosecution. Following judicial investigation, both men were remanded in custody at Antanimora prison pending trial. It is noted that impersonating community leaders to carry out robbery is considered a dangerous and deceptive practice that undermines public confidence in institutions responsible for maintaining order within communities. Judicial authorities warn residents to remain vigilant and report immediately anyone claiming to hold authority or responsibility for public security. D.R
