ANTEHIROKA - Four people narrowly escape lynching
On Monday around 1:15 p.m., four people narrowly escaped lynching in Antehiroka, in the Ambohidratrimo district. Alerted by shouts accusing child abduction, hundreds of residents gathered around the market, where security committee members were holding the four individuals with a young boy. The crowd, convinced they were kidnappers, was about to act when gendarmes arrived on the scene. After verification, it turned out that the man holding the child was none other than his father. Separated from his wife, who has custody of the boy, he had come unannounced to visit his son. Not finding him at home, he had decided to take the child to buy clothes and food. The boy, dirty and poorly dressed, had attracted the attention of passersby who, not recognizing the adults, immediately cried abduction. The rumor spread and the crowd quickly formed.
