Just days after a 55-year-old woman was killed in Ambinaninony commune in Brickaville by her own son, police from the Brickaville brigade have arrested the suspect. During this period, Brickaville police conducted a search operation that led them to Anjahamany commune, which borders both Ambatondrazaka and Brickaville, where the man had attempted to flee despite his crime. Officers from the Ambalarondra brigade assisted in the Brickaville operation. Brickaville police had warned that they would capture the man, even if he tried to escape far from his hometown. Reconstructing the events, the murder appeared to have been committed with crude weapons, but the motive was money—the son wanted funds to buy alcohol and food. Additional evidence emerged during his arrest that will be included in the judicial proceedings against him. Brickaville police thanked the widow left behind by the deceased, who is the mother of the killer, though these officers remain focused on their investigation. By Didier
