The Ministry of Public Works announced a partial traffic interruption on this route as part of the launch of flyover construction work at the Anosizato bridge. "A partial traffic interruption will occur in Anosizato, from Thursday, July 30 at 1 a.m. until Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 10 a.m.," according to a statement published by the ministry yesterday. The ministry also issued a notice stating that "traffic on the embankment, from the intersection leading to Anosipatrana (PK 3+900) to the Anosizato bridge (PK 3+000), will be temporarily prohibited for all vehicles, from Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 1 a.m. to Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 10 a.m." This notice was removed from the ministry's Facebook page shortly after publication. A new organization was reportedly decided during a meeting bringing together entities responsible for traffic in Antananarivo, including the Antananarivo Urban Municipality (CUA), the Land Transport Agency (ATT), and the National Police. "The objective is to reduce the duration of the traffic interruption and limit inconvenience to users," according to a source. The removed notice also mentioned that all vehicles using RN58A to reach Anosizato would take the Anosipatrana - Anosibe - Anosizato Atsinanana route to reach the Anosizato roundabout. "A traffic plan simulation is being conducted in Anosizato currently. The final traffic plan for this event will be communicated during tomorrow," according to another source. The official work launch ceremony, scheduled for Friday, July 31 from 5 p.m., requires traffic reorganization on this road. This measure will allow for the setup of stage structures and site security in preparation for the arrival of high-ranking state officials. Regarding traffic during the actual construction work, Public Works Minister Dr. Sambilason Richard Rafefimanana sought to reassure the public by announcing last Thursday that the construction site itself will not block traffic in Anosizato. Bridge capacity will be increased to improve traffic flow during construction. A temporary metal bridge will be installed to support the current bridge. A new structure, located right next to it, will also be built. Work will begin immediately after the first ceremonial dig. The Ministry of Public Works announced that the "escrow account" intended to receive compensation funds was opened on Monday, July 27, 2026. This step marks major progress in project implementation, as it was agreed that displaced persons will not leave their homes before receiving their compensation.
