Sunil Taldar, Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Africa. Airtel Africa continues on its growth trajectory. The pan-African mobile and internet operator is recording solid foundations that support profitable growth and investment in future growth opportunities. Strong results follow the sustained implementation of a strategy that has enabled the operator to achieve solid operational performance, with accelerated customer growth across all business segments. 189 million customers Indeed, Airtel Africa's total customer base increased by 11.6% to reach 189 million customers, with data services subscribers growing by 15.5% to 87.3 million. Data consumption per customer continued its upward trend, rising from 7.8 GB to 10.6 GB per month over the past year, representing a 56.3% increase in data traffic across the network, resulting in 10.3% growth in data-related average revenue per user (ARPU) at constant exchange rates. Smartphone penetration rate was the key driver of this traffic increase, reaching 51.0% as digital adoption of our services continues. The total annual value of transactions processed on the Airtel Money platform increased by 51.5% to exceed $245 billion in presentation currency, driven by continued customer growth reaching 56.5 million customers, up 23.3%, and increased engagement. Efforts to strengthen financial inclusion through increased service adoption by customers, diversification of use cases, and a stronger digital payments ecosystem have increased utilization rates and fostered continued growth in average revenue per user (ARPU), reinforcing Airtel Money's growing role as a trusted digital financial services provider. Double-digit growth On the financial front, revenue in presentation currency increased by 31.0% to $1,853 million, driven by 21.1% growth at constant exchange rates and favorable macroeconomic factors supporting currency appreciations. All segments continued to record double-digit revenue growth at constant exchange rates, with mobile telephony services revenue growing 19.1% and mobile money services revenue growing 25.8%. On the mobile telephony services side, voice services continue to record strong growth at constant exchange rates of 11.2%, while data services revenue grew 27.2%. In East Africa and Francophone Africa, revenue at constant exchange rates grew 17.8% and 18.0% respectively, while Nigeria grew 29.8%, directly driven by tariff adjustments implemented in Q4 2025. Profit after tax reached $198 million, up from $156 million in the previous period. The increase in profit after tax during this period is explained by higher operating results, partially offset by derivative and foreign exchange losses totaling $6 million, compared to gains of $22 million in the previous period. Additionally, profit after tax was impacted by an exceptional financial charge of $37 million following a principal agreement reached during the quarter regarding a commercial dispute within one of the Group's subsidiaries. "We started this year with encouraging new performance," said Sunil Taldar, Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Africa. "Our constant focus on customer experience has resulted in accelerated growth of our customer base across all business segments," he continued.
