A serious traffic accident occurred on National Road 44, which connects Moramanga and Ambatondrazaka, over the weekend. A motorcycle collided with a car at Morarano Gara in Moramanga district. The motorcycle driver, a resident of Bembary commune, died at the scene. The accident happened on Friday around 7 p.m. at kilometer 21+800, in the Avaratriniala area, Marovoay fokontany, Morarano Gara commune. The incident occurred on a straight stretch of road outside the city. The motorcycle, ridden by Itpk Morabe Joseph from Bembary commune heading north from Moramanga, suddenly struck the car. The vehicle stopped on the roadside after the collision, but the motorcycle driver lost control. The impact was severe, with the motorcycle completely destroyed. Both motorcycle occupants were seriously injured, with the driver suffering the most critical injuries. Police arrived quickly at the scene and transported the victims to Moramanga hospital. Despite the massive blood loss and severe injuries, the city resident could not be saved despite medical efforts. The other victim remains hospitalized and stable. Police have launched an investigation into the accident and are questioning the car driver.
