Ikopa River: Four people arrested following drowning death
Police from Ambohimalaza, who oversee the Ambomimanambola district, quickly launched an investigation into the drowning of a man found dead on Saturday. According to reports, several family members were together at the time after work. On the road, a young man allegedly grabbed a bottle that had been drunk from and it broke. This caused problems with road users and reportedly escalated into a confrontation. Among those now under investigation is whether family members who had been drinking fought with each other or among themselves. One of them was found dead in the Ikopa River, and rescue workers retrieved the body which had already begun to decompose. There are also reports that the man had vomited and was left there. Investigators have been examining all of this for two days now. Four people suspected of involvement in this death have been arrested. Notably, two bodies have been found in the Ikopa River near Ambohimanambola within just a few days, with no apparent connection. The case also involves a university student found dead after visiting a friend. Another body has also been recovered from the Ikopa near Ambohimanambola. Are people being deliberately killed?
