Beyond its competitive nature, the ASIEF, or "Association Sportive Interministerielle pour l'Entretien des Fonctionnaires," primarily aims to strengthen camaraderie among civil servants. The sports competition brings together government employees for this purpose, according to Rtoa Randriamanantena Lova Mirantsoa, regional president of ASIEF Vaninankaratra. Seven events will compete, with the best teams representing the region at the national ASIEF competition to be held in Manakara on August 17, 2026. This edition of ASIEF marks the introduction of the mind game "Fanorona," following a request from the Ministry of Culture and Heritage. The competition for the combined events began last weekend at ACMIL Antsirabe. It is worth noting that the Military Academy hosts numerous competitions during sports events like this, which are part of celebrations marking the school's 60th anniversary. The Academy is also currently participating in an "inter-company tournament," competing alongside the Ambonivohitra Antsirabe commune.
