A new prosecutor has been appointed to the first-instance jurisdiction of the Anti-Corruption Unit (PAC) in Mahajanga and Antsiranana. During a formal hearing held last Thursday, Voriandro Jean Prosper was officially installed in his role as prosecutor. The judicial ceremony took place at the PAC's new headquarters in Ambondrona, in the presence of the national coordinator of the anti-corruption system, as well as the Boeny regional chief and local judicial and administrative authorities.

On this occasion, the new prosecutor presented his main priorities, notably strengthening cooperation with security forces and the penitentiary administration, as well as improving communication within the PAC.

"The fight against corruption will not be mere words, and regaining public trust will be our objective. We will improve working methods and strengthen communication. We will also conduct field visits and increase mobile hearings or 'fitsarana mitety vohitra'. We will ensure that the public no longer needs to travel for services through the use of new technologies," declared the new prosecutor.
