Four suspects are currently facing charges in the murder case of Sahala Fanekena Rahanitrarivony, a 14-year-old girl reported missing on June 29. Her body was discovered the following day in Amboanjobe, in the Antananarivo Atsimondrano district. The investigation into this case is developing new leads. Four individuals, identified as Larissa, Fabrice, Clément, and Edgar, are suspected of involvement in the teenager's death. According to information gathered, some of the accused reportedly admitted their participation in the facts during interrogation.
During questioning, the suspects allegedly mentioned a murder committed as part of a supposed sacrifice. This particularly disturbing lead is now being pursued by investigators to determine the exact circumstances of the girl's death and possible motives of those involved. The investigation also led to the seizure of several objects presented as amulets and other items of potential interest to the inquiry. Among the seized items is notably a notebook containing references to sacrificial practices. Some inscriptions mention "necessary sacrifice: red rooster," while others simply state "necessary sacrifice."
For investigators, these elements could constitute important evidence to explore the hypothesis of organized practices linked to the murder. Their significance will need to be established through ongoing judicial proceedings. After their presentation before the court, the male suspects were placed in detention at Tsiafahy central prison. The female suspect was incarcerated at Antanimora prison.
