A total of 192 fokontany (neighborhoods) spread across the six districts of Antananarivo competed in the "Fokontany madio" (Clean Neighborhood) contest to showcase their locality. The evaluation was based on rigorous criteria essential to public health: household waste management, wastewater disposal, excreta management, and rainwater control. Following this thorough examination, 60 fokontany passed the initial selection, with 12 advancing to the finals to compete for the podium. The grand winner of this edition is Manjakamiadana fokontany, from the second district, which secured first place by obtaining equipment valued at 31.8 million ariary. Second place goes to Antanety Avaratra fokontany, located in the sixth district, rewarded with materials valued at 15.8 million ariary. Third place is claimed by Ampandrana Ouest fokontany, taking home equipment valued at 8.8 million ariary. All other neighborhoods that reached the final stage also received certificates of recognition to celebrate their exemplary commitment.
