Squadron Leader Jacques Didier Rakotondramanana, communications officer at the Vehicle Technical Control Centre, reminds that the use of non-compliant lights is prohibited. These devices, often too powerful or poorly aimed, can dazzle other road users and reduce their visibility, increasing accident risks. Lieutenant Colonel Rija Alberto Rakotomampianina, head of the service responsible for operations and unannounced technical inspections on roads, specifies that LED-type devices or stroboscopic lamps, which are not part of the manufacturer's original equipment, are particularly concerned. The same applies to certain projectors installed on the rear of trucks, non-compliant fog lights, flashing lights and other dazzling lighting devices. Officials regret that some users reinstall these devices after passing technical inspection, even though their vehicles were compliant during inspection. From today, vehicle and motorcycle owners and users have five days to comply. After this deadline, road control and inspection agents will apply penalties against offenders.
