Manala Azy Vita Bac 35th Edition Postponed to August 1st Due to National Mourning
The 35th edition of Olombelo Ricky's Manala Azy Vita Bac concert, traditionally held just after the final baccalaureate exams, could not take place yesterday, July 24th. The postponement follows the national mourning declared by Malagasy authorities in response to tragic kidnapping incidents that have affected the country. Olombelo Ricky expressed his compassion toward the families of victims on social media and decided to reschedule the celebration. The artist announced that the concert will now take place on Saturday, August 1st, 2026, at the same venue in Antsahamanitra, but starting at 3 p.m. Unlike previous evening editions, this performance will be held in the afternoon, allowing the community to gather in a more appropriate atmosphere. Previously purchased tickets remain valid for the new date, ensuring spectators can enjoy the unique ambiance of this emblematic concert, which has become a cherished ritual for young people fresh from their baccalaureate exams and a must-attend event for longtime fans. Through this postponement, Olombelo Ricky emphasizes that music serves as a space for solidarity. Unlike other concerts scheduled for yesterday, such as the Ambondrona concert at Novotel Alarobia which has been permanently cancelled due to scheduling constraints, the Manala Azy concert will proceed on the rescheduled date.
