Yas Campus in Andraharo hosted the first test of 5G-Advanced technology in Madagascar two days ago. This is an initiative led by Yas Madagascar in partnership with Huawei. "Through this experiment, we demonstrate that Madagascar now has the infrastructure, expertise and ambition necessary to support major global technological developments. Our objective is to prepare today the networks that will meet tomorrow's needs," said Janin Benoit, CEO of Yas Madagascar. With this demonstration, Yas Madagascar claims to become the fourth operator in the world to experiment with 5.5G, following operators from the United Arab Emirates, Mauritius and South Africa. Presented as the evolution of 5G, 5G-Advanced promises higher speeds, more responsive connectivity and better quality of service. This technology is designed to meet the needs of new digital uses, for individuals, businesses and administrations alike. During the demonstration organized at Yas Campus, guests discovered a 3D screen highlighting some of the possibilities offered by this new generation of networks. Ultimately, 5.5G could facilitate the development of applications based on artificial intelligence, augmented reality and connected objects. "A technology makes no sense when it does not concretely improve the lives of citizens. Each new generation of networks must bring Malagasy people closer to opportunities to learn, undertake, produce, receive healthcare, communicate and access increasingly efficient public services," said Mahefa Andriamampiadana, Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Digital Development.
