After three successful editions, Revirevy Mody Masoandro continues its journey with renewed ambition: to amplify the voices of artists sharing the same stage. The annual event returns for its fourth edition on July 26 at CCI Ivato, featuring three bands that have profoundly shaped Malagasy music: Mahaleo, Samoëla and Lolo sy ny Tariny. A consistent lineup, a formula that has already found its audience, and a concept that responds to numerous requests from passionate fans.
This fourth edition will give greater prominence to collaborative performances. Several songs by Samoëla, Mahaleo and Lolo sy ny Tariny will be shared on stage, alongside each group's individual repertoires. "Collaboration between us artists is truly important. It allows the audience to connect with our songs. That's our objective," emphasizes Dama from Mahaleo. For him, this artistic camaraderie resonates with the public: "When there is this unity and understanding between us artists, it transmits to the audience. The true meaning is to bring the lyrics to life, because today it becomes difficult to take time to listen to them."
Festive and Popular
The decision to maintain the same artists reflects a winning formula. The three bands already have numerous loyal followers and an audience demanding their return. The concept remains central to the event and aims to satisfy spectators' expectations. The repertoire will be adapted to audience preferences. "For a popular celebration, you must propose a Top 10 or Top 15 of songs people love, then choose one, two or three according to our wishes," explains Samoëla. He clarifies that the show promises to be festive and popular, without presenting itself as something entirely new. "For us at Samoëla, this is already our fourth time participating in this adventure. We're here to offer a good time, because it's a popular celebration that meets audience expectations," he affirms.
Preparations are already underway with joint rehearsals between the three bands. "We rehearsed yesterday. The rehearsal was done together, while each group remains well-organized on its own," Samoëla notes. The goal is to deliver a show that is both beautiful and festive, preserving each band's musical identity while strengthening moments of shared performance.
Beyond music, Revirevy Mody Masoandro also carries a commitment to promoting Malagasy culture. Benny from Lolo sy ny Tariny emphasizes the importance of this approach: "The fundamental idea is to preserve and always promote culture through artists, sociocultural institutions and carefully organized initiatives. We thank those who invest themselves, because it's not only artists who keep this culture alive: it's everyone's responsibility."
For Dama: "This gathering is also an opportunity to restore the full importance of lyrics in music." He reminds that artists must go beyond simply seeking recognition and propose meaningful works. The repertoire for this fourth edition will thus be guided by what resonates on stage, with special attention to collaborative songs.
