Nine baccalaureate candidates from Antsirabe were involved in a traffic accident on Monday while traveling to their exam center in Miandrivazo. The accident disrupted the examination process for those involved, with some sustaining injuries.
Despite the incident, some candidates will be allowed to continue their baccalaureate participation. They have been authorized to sit the philosophy exam scheduled for this Friday. Special arrangements will be made to allow them to take the exam under conditions suited to their situation. "A different subject will be proposed to them to account for their particular circumstances," an authorized source stated yesterday.
The five other candidates involved in the accident will not be able to continue the exams this year. Their health condition does not yet permit them to resume examinations. They will have to repeat their year.
The decision allows candidates whose health permits to continue their academic path, while others must wait for the next session to retake the exams. Authorized candidates will sit the exam accordingly.
Meanwhile, security measures for the exams remain reinforced. Prof. Angelo Raherinirina recalls that a "zero tolerance" principle is applied to all infractions. "We are working to clean up examinations to ensure credible diplomas and to value merit," he emphasizes.
