This year's baccalaureate examination in Toamasina stands out as the Atsinanana and Alaotra-Mangoro regions, together with Analanjirofo and Ambatosoa regions, now share university management. A total of 24,183 candidates sat for the baccalaureate in Atsinanana and Alaotra-Mangoro, with 22,887 in the general stream and 1,296 in the technical stream. Of these, 22,198 were school candidates while 1,985 were private candidates. The oldest candidate was 61 years old from Toamasina renivohitra in the A2 category, while the youngest was 10 years old from Moramanga, also in the A2 category. The baccalaureate examination in Toamasina took place at the lycée Jacques Rabemananjara examination center in Toamasina renivohitra. The event was inaugurated by various government officials, including the prefect of Toamasina and the rector of the University of Toamasina, as well as the mayor of Toamasina renivohitra and numerous other dignitaries. The examination proceeded smoothly, with candidates arriving almost before 7 a.m. for registration, and the first subject, philosophy, began at 7:30 a.m. The rector of the University of Toamasina noted that results would be released one month after the examination, which includes all teachers in the Atsinanana and Alaotra-Mangoro regions, and would be available directly on the university website and through official communication channels. Regional authorities and city officials thanked all examination supervisors for their efforts in ensuring the smooth conduct of the examination.
