Following the fatal accident that occurred on July 16 on the Tsarasaotra Ring Road, the Antananarivo City Council (CUA) is responding. The municipality is planning a series of emergency improvements designed to strengthen road safety on this heavily trafficked route. Among the key measures is the construction of a pedestrian footbridge to facilitate crossing and reduce the risk of tragedy. According to the CUA, this infrastructure will help better protect users. In parallel, the municipality plans to raise existing speed bumps and install, as soon as possible, "Cobra" type streetlights to optimize nighttime visibility. Speed Limits Beyond these physical installations, the CUA indicates it is working closely with the Traffic Accident Brigade (BAC) to establish the exact circumstances of the July 16 tragedy and identify responsibilities. Faced with a surge in accidents, the municipality renews its call for caution. Motorists are firmly urged to respect speed limits, while pedestrians are encouraged to systematically use designated crossings to cross the road.
