This latest case among disappearances followed by murders has sparked a wave of public outrage and influential figures speaking out in media and on social networks. These disappearances followed by murders not only move people emotionally, but are above all sources of deep sadness, anger, and anxiety. For everyone, it is urgent that authorities step up efforts to shed light on all these disappearances and murders of children, adolescents, and young adults. They must deploy greater material and financial resources to accelerate investigations. Indeed, law enforcement is conducting large-scale investigations covering hundreds of cases. During the first six months of 2026, at least 172 disappearances were reported nationwide, with 119 in the Analamanga region alone, according to figures from the national police. Each report is systematically investigated. So far, 164 cases are classified as disappearances, while eight are classified as murders or homicides. Among all reported missing persons, 81 have been found alive, including 63 in Analamanga. For the others, public opinion awaits tangible and rapid results.
